The New National Living Wages rates from April 2024

Every April the rates for National Living Wage and National Minimum Wage change. Here are the rates that came into effect 1 April 2024:

• The National Living Wage, now for ages 21 and over - £11.44
• The National Minimum Wage, for 18 to 20 year olds - £8.60
• For under 18's - £6.40
• For Apprentices - £6.40

Apprentices are entitled to the apprentice rate if they're either:

• aged under 19
• aged 19 or over in the first year of their apprenticeship

Apprentices are entitled to the national minimum wage for their age if they both:

• are aged 19 or over
• and have completed the first year of their apprenticeship
